Our Wedding (Part 1)

We registered on the 9th of March, 2013.
The wedding ceremony and dinner reception was on the 16th of March, 2013. Oh what a tiring day but good memories!

This is the slideshow of the morning event that took place on the 16th March. I think Jon Low did a great job. We're still waiting for the rest of the pictures so there will be a part 2.

I wanted to post some videos of the wedding reception that my uncle from Canada recorded but my old and lousy notebook kept on shutting down due to over-heating each time I wanted to process it. I gave up. Lol.

People I want to thank:
1. Mummy and Daddy - For everything and I love you!
2. My in-laws, Mama and Papa - For everything and I love you too!
3. Brother, Colin - For the night event coordination and you did a great job emceeing for the night
4. Sister-in-law, May - For helping me to coordinate the night event
5. My beloved new sisters, Steffi and Eve - For everything, for helping Ryan and for coordinating the night event. You guys are awesome!
6. Maid of honor who is also my BFF, Jess Tan - For everything!
7. Bridesmaids, Daphne, Lena, Seowei and Pu Foong - You guys are really awesome!
8. Groomsmen, Kenneth, Alvin, Meow, Teh, Nicholas and Siang - Also awesome!
9. Cousin Edmund - For being the Chinese emcee for the night
10. To all the guests who attended the wedding - You made our day!

My Love Story

I've been meaning to blog about my love story since the proposal. I just want to remember this and maybe many years down the road, this blog post will remind me of our story.

Warning: This is a long post. 100% no dramas like Romeo and Juliet stories so, this can be a little boring. =D

So, how I met Ryan? My colleague CL and I planned for a steamboat dinner at Tain Siang Hei Wei, Sunway Giza. It was a Friday night. So happened Lena (also from the same company), whom I invited few days earlier to join us but she told us that she had other plans, asked if she and her friends could join us and then we could all go out for post-dinner drinks after that. So she brought her three guy friends (one of them is Ryan) to join us for dinner.

During dinner, Ryan was very quiet. He didn't talk and joke like the other guys. I didn't think we exchanged any words at all until he sat next to me at Movida for the post-dinner drinks. Well, I broke the ice. I just felt like disturbing this quiet guy sitting next to me by getting him to drink more. That was when it all started. He started to warm up and he talked a lot more. We joked a lot and we were being silly. I definitely felt some sparks between us that night but I didn't think more of it.

When I got home that night, he texted me to check if I got home safely. A few days later or maybe about a week later, I received a text from him asking about my day and he eventually asked me for my MSN and FB. We then started to talk more online. Okay, a bit perasan but I know most girls have such instinct and they can tell if the guy is interested in her. I knew this guy was interested in me. =P

Time after time, Lena arranged for a night out, movie night and so on with CL and me and she will invite Ryan to join us as well. That was how I got to see Ryan in person more often. As time went by, we got closer and closer. I guess we knew something was going on between us but none of us said anything.

So one night, after he gave me a small gift, I just couldn't stand it and I asked him in a joking manner, "Why did you keep on giving me gifts? Are you chasing me?" He admitted in a joking manner as well and so I replied, "Bring it on!". Lol! Well, he was more daring in his pursuit after that. I got a text from him every single morning wishing me well. He still does by the way. Just not every single morning. Maybe close deal already so no need, hor? =P

So after many dates, we officially pronounced ourselves boyfriend and girlfriend on a public holiday (Wesak Day 2011). How did that happen? We went for a movie at Midvalley and then we went for a pint of beer at Library. When we left the place for dinner, we held hands and none of us let go. So that's how.

I can say that we have a healthy relationship. Everything is well-balanced. Love, career, family, etc. We are not the very clingy type of couples but that doesn't mean we don't love each other. We both have our own stuffs to do everyday but we still communicate every now and then throughout the day. Because we are usually busy on weekdays, we will usually spend our weekends together. I love how this guy has plannings and when he planned something, he'll really do it and he is very focused. He's also my kind of man. =D

I have to say that I really love this guy. I never knew love could feel this way. Wah, sound like a song lyric. Lol! I have to thank Lena for this. Without her, I don't think I will be able to meet Ryan at all. I was telling her this on MSN one day after she congratulated me on my engagement and she said, "Don't thank me lah...it's fate!".

The funny thing was she admitted that she and her hubby (one of the guys that night at the steamboat) actually planned this. They deliberately wanted to introduce us. LOL! I was like, "What the hell...bugger! When are you planning to tell me this?" and she went, "But it worked out, right?" Haha! Yes, it worked out. I still got to thank her, seriously. Thank you for introducing us, babe!

So, that's my story. It's not a very long post lah. =D

The Proposal

So he proposed in Beach Republic, Koh Samui on the 29th of April 2012. It was a sweet surprise!

The Proposal

Samui & Phuket Fireworks did a great job with the fireworks. However, the "Marry Me" sign was a flop. It wasn't fully lighted up. Couldn't blame them though. It was really windy that night.

My Kind of Man

I like my man who is really DIY. Someone who fix stuffs at home. I just find that very sexy and it's a big plus point for him. Seriously.

I guess that's because I'm a daddy's little girl. Huh? Why? Well, people say that daddy's little girls will usually find partners who are like their daddies. They unconsciously look for their dad's qualities in the men they meet. I think that theory is true. You see, my dad is a very DIY kind of man. He fixes literally everything in the house! I'm not kidding.

So Ryan came with me to the new house to check out my walk-in closet today. I guess he didn't expect to do any work but he ended up fixing and putting up some wall racks in my toilet for me. Oh, so much drilling! Since he started with my toilet, he ended up fixing the racks for the other toilets as well. My parent's toilet was the hardest to drill because they got those hard wall tiles. I guess he must be cursing inside and thought to himself that he shouldn't have come in the first place. Lol!

I can see that my mom is very please with him and so is my dad. My mom told me that while Ryan was drilling in my toilet upstairs, my dad went down to the kitchen and told my mom, "this is what I call a boyfriend lah!"

LOL! The things my dad says can be really funny sometimes.

Well, I knew all along that Ryan is a DIY person. I've just never really seen him in action before until tonight. That's just so sexy! Haha!

Ryan's Birthday @ Prime, Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur

On September 21st, I celebrated Ryan's birthday at Prime, Le Meridien Hotel Kuala Lumpur. I've heard so much about this place and it was also voted Best Steak House in Time Out KL Food Awards 2010, so I decided to give this restaurant a try.

I made my reservation online and on the same day, a lady called me to reconfirm (she mispronounced my name though *click here*).

What I liked from my dining experience at Prime:
  • The bread and the 3 different kinds of butter.
  • Lobster Bisque - we ordered 1 to share and they split it into 2 bowls for us.
  • The steak - Sorry I forgot what I ordered but it was good. Better than Ryan's wagyu.
  • Red wine - Sorry again, I forgot which wine I ordered.
  • They actually took note that I was celebrating Ryan's birthday that night and they surprised him with a slice of cake with a candle lighted up toward the end of our dinner. I was surprised. The cake was yummy too.

What I didn't like:

  • Service was slow although the waiters/waitresses were running around. It was hard for us to call them. Understaffed?
  • We waited for almost an hour for our main course. Luckily our main was not a disappointment or else, I'mma kill them! Lol.

It wasn't the best fine-dining experience for me but most importantly, Ryan's happy.

Total damage was MYR518.50.

100th Day

Ryan sent me flowers for our 1 month anniversary.

I did the same for our 100th day. I got the flowers sent to his office. This probably surprised him. Lol!

She was telling him that she doesn't date colleagues and that is her policy.

Him: Really? Luckily I didn't chase you that time.
Her: Yeah.
Him: So?
Her: So what?
Him: But we are not colleagues anymore now.
Her: Hahahaha so?
Him: So I chase you.
Her: Cannot!
Him: Why? Yo!
Her: Hahahaha you are fun and I don't want to lose you as a friend.
Him: I won't accept this reason.
Her: Wow, I didn't know you can actually won't accept a reason for such thing.
Him: Yeah, let me think. It's like programming. IF-THEN-ELSE. Haha.
Her: So what is the "if" and the "then" and the "else"?
Him: IF you are fun and I don't want to lose you as a friend, THEN I won't accept those kind of answer, ELSE I will chase you.

LOL! What the hell? That's the kind of answer you get from a programmer.

So, I was telling my cousin it's not good to steal other people's girlfriend. The reason is if a girl is easily stolen by you, in future someone else will be able to steal her from you too. Therefore, such girl is not good.

His reply was:
"It's not like that. Maybe she doesn't really love her current boyfriend. Maybe she's still keeping her option open. You are a girl too...you should know the feeling. It doesn't mean that you go on a diet, you cannot look at the menu. You might want to eat after you are done with your diet. Correct or not?"

Geez! Seriously? I was speechless. .........

LOL!

Strangers, again

Lena shared with me a video today about all the stages of a relationship.

This is so true. So spot on.

Damn, the girl is hot! So is the guy. :D

Updated
No wonder she looks familiar! I just found out she is the same girl I watched on YouTube 2 years ago here:
